BASIC REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate degree in Electronics, Physical Sciences, Metrology or equivalent technical science degree.

  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Apply knowledge of measurement science, mathematics, physics, and electronics to calibrate inspection measurement and test equipment in the electrical, dimensional, optical, physical, mechanical, environmental disciplines to ensure instrument measurement accuracy.

  • Able to read and understand electrical schematics.

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

  • Able to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

  • Can define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

  • Attention to detail and accurate documentation of calibration results are required.

  • Fluency with Word and Excel are preferred.

This 1st shift Instrumentation Technician position will be located in the Howmet Research Center. Primary responsibilities include:

  • Perform instrument calibrations (temperature, flow, pressure) and furnace temperature uniformity surveys.

  • Maintain calibration standards.

  • Record and document calibration results and prepare written reports.

  • Write and follow procedures.

  • Maintain records of calibrations, tests, and inspections.

  • Troubleshoot, repair and maintain plant process control equipment and laboratory test equipment.

  • Generate requisitions to purchase calibrated standards and services.

Additional factors affecting this position

  • Must be able to drive and travel locally from Plant to Plant.

  • Must be able to occasionally lift/move up to 25 pounds.

  • Travel to other Howmet facilities may be required.

  • Technician will have rotational off-shift on-call responsibilities.
