An Instrumentation & Electrical Technician job in Fayetteville, North Carolina is currently available through Belcan. To be considered for this role you must be a licensed electrician in the state of North Carolina and have a minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience in instrumentation / electrical field or an Associates Degree in I & E Technology or experience in maintaining and troubleshooting low and medium voltage switch-gear systems, including experience in preventive maintenance of breakers, relays, and transformers. You will also be self-motivated, flexible, with the ability to work under pressure within short time constraints.


Instrumentation & Electrical Technician Job Duties and

Responsibilities:

Investigate problems with instruments and sensors including flow meters, variable speed drives, temperature sensors, pressure and level transmitters, air quality sensors, communication devices and interfaces

Repair and maintain electrical and instrument equipment using hand tools, power tools, & precision measuring and testing instruments and engages in rebuilding, repairing, and maintaining a variety of machines, equipment, and instruments.

Inspect and test operations of instruments and systems to diagnose faults using pneumatic, electrical and electronic testing devices and precision measuring instruments.

Capable of working with DCS, programming and troubleshooting programmable logic controls (PLC), control software and human-machine interface systems would be an asset.

Perform all work in accordance with established safety rules and procedures.

Instrumentation & Electrical Technician Job Requirements and Preferences:

High School Diploma/GED

Must be a licensed electrician in the state of North Carolina

Must have one of the below:

  • Minimum of 3 years of maintenance experience in instrumentation / electrical field

  • Associates Degree in I & E Technology

  • Experience in maintaining and troubleshooting low and medium voltage switch-gear systems, including experience in preventive maintenance of breakers, relays, and transformers.

Must be able to read and interpret electrical drawings and instrument loop diagrams

Possess good troubleshooting/problem solving skills, good interpersonal skills in communication, listening, and good safety practices with good computer skills.

Electrical Engineer Job Duties and Responsibilities: Provide hands-on technical and advisory support to the plant maintenance department including providing guidance during plant power outages, upsets and shutdowns. Perform root cause analysis of failed components, perform technical review of instrumentation system designs and modifications and troubleshoot and resolve electrical/instrumentation reliability issues. Manage small projects related to plant reliability improvements to ensure efficient use of resources and stay within approved expense and capital expenditure guidelines in completing assignments and that all activities are carried out with integrity and in a safe and efficient manner. Closely work in a team atmosphere for routine and non-routine repair of instrumentation, analyzers, variable speed driver/controls and electrical equipment, implement improvements and reliability initiatives Design, train and implement preventive maintenance (PM), predictive maintenance (PdM), and continuous reliability improvement modifications. Electrical Engineer Job Requirements and Preferences: Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering Five plus years experience in an industrial maintenance environment; (preferably chemical manufacturing environment.) Experience with instruments and sensors such as flow meters, variable speed driver, temperature sensors, pressure and level transmitters, communication devices, interfaces and working at voltage up to 13.8kV. Proficient computer experience including Window Software Suite Excellent analytical, problem solving/troubleshooting skills, safe work habits with high energy level and results oriented with ability to translate key area and business needs into the right priorities and action. Ability to successfully work independently and as a member of a cross-functional team Strong communication and presentation skills and good problem solving and math skills. Preferred Qualifications: Standards & Drawings - NFPA70 (NEC) & NFPA72, ISA-5.1, P & ID's, elementary, Single-Line, Instrument Loop, Wiring-Connection and Process Flow Diagrams. Hardware - PLC's - Allen Bradley SLC500, PLC5, Pyramid Integrator, ControlLogix, Modicon Quantum processors, Drives - Allen Bradley AC PowerFlex Drives, 1336, 1352 and motors - AC Motors from 5 to 900 Hp.
