Essential Job Functions:    Performs major testing and overhaul of instrumentation and electrical equipment, including high voltage motor control circuits, pressure transducers, electro-mechanical devices, liquid level control, flow meters (pressure differential, magnetic), PLCs and SCADA, D.C. and variable frequency motor controls, analytical equipment (pH meters colorimeters, etc.) and other electronic equipment; installs, repairs and maintains various analyzers and electrical equipment in the field; maintains chemical pumps; maintains chlorinator equipment; pipefitting; designs computer interface equipment systems, test equipment, and other electronic equipment; maintains testing and repair equipment in good condition at all times; maintains parts supply inventory; prepares and maintains records and reports; studies manuals and new equipment literature to remain abreast of new equipment and maintenance procedures. Develops and maintains SCADA systems, HMI computer control software and various PLCs.

 Must be available to work Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; occasional shift work; subject to 24 hour call and overtime when necessary. Must be available to work during hurricanes and other types of disasters.Knowledge:  Knowledge of practices, methods, materials, and equipment used in electronic installations, instrumentation, complex relay logic, maintenance, repair, and testing; knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the work; knowledge of PLC, preferably Allen-Bradley equipment; knowledge of PC operations. HMI development.

Skills/Abilities:  Ability to perform tasks listed above unassisted; ability to assemble complex control panels and systems.

Ability to detect and correct defects in various types of electronic, instrumentation, and electrical equipment; ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions and to interpret blueprints, sketches, and diagrams; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees; skill in the use and maintenance of electronic equipment, 480 volt control systems, and testing devices. Troubleshoot and work safely with 2400 volt motor control systems.

Physical Requirements:  Constantly sees and hears; frequently stands, stoops, bends, climbs, and lift heavy objects weighing up to 50 lbs. Must be able to distinguish colors.

Education/Experience:  Graduation from a college, university, or accredited technical training institution with a two-year associate degree in electronics, supplemented by specialized training.

 Approximately five (5) years experience with progressive responsibility in the repair and maintenance of electrical and electronic equipment, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, abilities, and skills. Electrical license preferred. College degree may be substituted for work experience.Other:

   Must possess a valid driver's license with a good driving record.  Applicant selected for hire will be subject to a background investigation and drug/alcohol screen test.
