Title: Instrumentation Electrical Maintenance Team Member
Location: Flint River Mill, Oglethorpe, GA
Reports to: Maintenance Manager
The Maintenance Instrumentation / Electrical Team Member will support the manufacturing teams by providing quality maintenance duties to maximize mill equipment reliability and availability. These duties include but are not restricted to, electrical circuit troubleshooting and repair, drive troubleshooting and repair, instrumentation and control valve calibration, troubleshooting and repair. The individual must support and exemplify the vision and organizational values of International Paper and the Flint River Mill.
The key accountabilities listed below are not to be considered all-inclusive; a team member may be required to perform additional tasks, as directed, and based on changing business needs of the company.
Performs maintenance duties to troubleshoot and repair defective equipment in a timely manner.
Responds to assigned work orders and inputs to the Computerized Maintenance Management System the work performed on the equipment specified in the work order.
Performs predictive and preventative maintenance duties and generates work requests in SAP to repair defective equipment.
Communicates closely with the team leader and other team members on the status of work progress.
Assists in the education of other team members to produce a multi-functional maintenance department.
Assists the manufacturing / maintenance teams as necessary in their tasks and process troubleshooting.
Works closely with all team members to ensure that work is done in a safe manner.
Works as part of a team which is responsible for the condition of all manufacturing and non-manufacturing equipment.
Works with operators and project engineers to install new equipment and modify existing equipment.
Works as part of a Process Ownership System.
Coaches safety in others and leads by example.
Understands and meets internal and external customer requirements.
Develops, maintains, and uses reliable methods for all processes and their improvements.
Assists other team members in the mill as necessary to minimize downtime and maintain quality.
Maintains and develops team relationships.
Develops and stays current in cross-functional maintenance skills.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Must be able to wear all required personal safety equipment
Noise levels in excess of 90 dB
Heat in excess of 100F occasionally
Working environment is 24/7 ability to be on-call as needed and/or required.
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 80% of shift time.
Walking: Within immediate area and up and down several floors.
Lifting: Up to 50 pounds; i.e., propane tank and contents = 50 pounds, or working shutdowns.
Carrying: Periodically tools, repair materials and equipment to multiple levels.
Occasionally ascends/descends stairs, ladders and into tanks ,into and onto tanks and other vessels
Some assignments require kneeling, crouching, bending, and twisting while installing, troubleshooting and repairing equipment.
KEY KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
Basic computer skills.
Able to function in a team environment.
Proven record of safe work practices.
Auditory perception to respond to safety and operational sounds.
Must be able to follow written and oral instructions in English.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
Ability to be part of a multi-functional/multi-skill maintenance organization with a willingness to flow to work as required by changing mill conditions and priorities.
Minimum of three years industrial maintenance experience in any one of the following maintenance skill areas: Instrumentation or Electrical.
Associate degree in Instrumentation or Electrician.
Strong math/physics understanding.
Relevant work experience in an industrial environment.
Instrumentation background on the Instrumentation Electrical side.
Experience working in High Performance Work Systems.
Experience working in a team-based, customer and quality-focused environment.
Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) such as SAP.
Starting Rate of Pay: Level I ($25.53) or Level II ($28.23)
