Instrumentation & Electrical Controls (I&EC) (2200041) - Huntsville, AL Where the Chemistry Happens We are seeking a professional like you to provide instrument, electrical and controls engineering expertise to the Huntsville site.

In this role, you will assure proper design, installation, startup, maintenance and repair of instrumentation, electrical equipment, and process control systems according to regulatory and BASF standards. You will support maintenance, operations, and capital project activities while ensuring a culture of continuous improvement employing DMAIC and LEAN Manufacturing tools.

  • Leveraging your educational background in Electrical Engineering (or a similar discipline) and your professional experience in electrical and automation or controls, you will direct I&EC functions for capital projects including, but not limited to, scoping, estimating, planning, and scheduling.

  • Your solid understanding of electrical and instrument equipment and plant manufacturing processes will be a valued asset as you deliver troubleshooting support and recommendations to operations and maintenance on equipment repair/reliability, including emergency work reviews.

  • Your strong commitment to workplace safety will be essential as you drive compliance with all environmental, safety and health (EHS) requirements.

  • You will be accountable for leading the development of future automation projects through oversight of strategy, design, programming, maintenance, and HMI software/programming

Through your strong technical competencies, you will play a key role in engineering design and EHS reviews for capital projects.

Position Description: As an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer you will perform l&C functions for both flight and non-flight hardware. This work is in support of test programs at NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC). The I&C engineer will: * Support the testing of launch vehicle systems, sub-systems and elements. * Support the following: * Facility/test article controls * Instrumentation * Data systems * Preparation of Documentation to includes: * Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) * Facility Operation Procedures (FOPs) * Facility Activation Plans (FAPs) * Data analyses. Job Duties will include: * Coordination with NASA project level customers across organizations to ensure mission success. * Work with a diverse team of civil servants and contractors to design, develop, setup, and perform propulsion and structural testing on space flight qualification hardware, and other mission critical hardware. * Participate in safety meetings, task meetings, design reviews, and test readiness reviews as requested to support JSEG and customer requirements. * Develop and deliver reports and presentations as requested to support JSEG and customer requirements via Power Point and other various software packages. * Perform safety and certification training to support JSEG and customer requirements. * Familiarity with OSHA and ANSI standards. * Minimum travel required.
