This is a role well suited to an ambitious professional, looking for the next step in their career. As an Instrument Technician, you will be responsible for:

  • You will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on all Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics instrumentation (primarily Dimension and Vista Chemistry products) at the Glasgow campus in Delaware with minimal supervision. You will be functioning as a Site Service Electronic Technician servicing Medical Diagnostic equipment at the Glasgow site.

  • You will be responsible to develop relationships with various labs throughout the site and set up and schedule monthly generated PM's on your equipment.

  • You will be responsible for delivering both timely and effective repairs when the instrument is not functioning.

  • You will be integral in the initiating and delivering of repair parts and consumables to your area of responsibilities.

  • You will function in a team environment and render support when called upon.

  • Establish and maintain proper business relationships with customers and peers, as well as performing necessary administrative duties accurately.

  • You have experience in testing, repairing, and maintaining biochemistry medical diagnostic equipment used in hospitals and Laboratory testing facilities.

  • You have strong customer service and communication skills.

  • You are proficient in the use of tools and service test equipment.

  • You have experience in electro-mechanical equipment and troubleshooting.

  • You are familiar with uploading software to machines and troubleshooting the performance.

  • Work in a highly productive and efficient manner to maximize the quantity of activities completed with focus on delivering maintenance excellence.

  • Identify waste, process flow obstacles, and other opportunities for improvement, recommend solutions, and assist with implementation.

  • Identify opportunities to learn new skills and actively participate in development that will improve overall team performance.

  • Represent the Facility Maintenance team in discussions and meetings with peers and other site personnel.

  • Provide facility and manufacturing support as needed with reasonable on call responsibility and overtime commitments - this may be outside of normal working hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.

  • Must demonstrate excellent judgment in customer relations and in managing company resources; strong competency in instrument systems technology to include mechanics, electrical, chemistry, and software technology; experience with electronics, and pneumatic systems.

The required skills/qualifications to have to have success in this role

  • Associate degree or higher.

  • Must be proficient in the use of tools and service test equipment, with the ability to work both individually and in an established team setting.

  • 5+ years' experience as a medical technologist or field service Technician servicing diagnostic instruments in a hospital or laboratory environment.
