Our INVISTA Victoria, TX facility is seeking entrepreneurial, innovative leaders to join the team as an Instrument Specialist-Analyzer.

Our Team

The Instrument Specialist - Analyzer is a key member of the Instrument Reliability Technical Group (IRTG). The Instrument Specialist focused on analyzers will work within a team whose goal is improving the performance of the analyzer equipment in our petrochemical plant by providing technical support, troubleshooting complex scenarios, and the application of new and emerging technology.

The Analyzer Specialist will work closely with the IRTG Engineers and the Analyzer Capability Team for the overall technical assurance of the plant process analyzers and continuous improvement of the Victoria Site Analyzer Program.

The successful candidate will have experience with Process Analyzers, environmental condition monitoring, and familiarity with quality control techniques.

What You Will Do

  • Join a highly self-motivated team focused on improving Analyzer Reliability, Development of Analyzer Life Cycle Strategies, and the Implementation of electronic tools for the visibility of analyzer performance and trending

  • Lead complex problem-solving and diagnostics, equipment upgrades, detailed troubleshooting, and support critical MOCs and projects

  • Implement the appropriate plans to support condition-based monitoring

  • Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) of critical equipment and bad actors while supporting those implementing the solutions

  • Provide technical support for Analyzers including predictive and condition-based maintenance and precision repair practices that meet industry specifications /standards

  • Provide Analyzer turnaround scoping input and technical support

  • Ensure QA/QC strategies are in place for critical scopes

The goal of the Instrument Specialist-Analyzer is to drive improvements in both Analyzer and process unit availability, thus reducing unplanned events caused by Analyzer failures and ensuring safe work practices.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Associate degree or higher in Instrumentation, Electronics, Process Technology, Engineering, Chemistry, Science, or Technology from an accredited college or university

OR

  • Minimum of seven (7) years Analyzer experience in the refinery or chemical facilities

  • Must have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience with instrumentation condition monitoring

  • Experience in GC's (Gas Chromatography) and sample system design and maintenance, PH, Conductivity, O2 Measurement, various ambient air monitors, Environmental monitoring equipment for TCEQ and CEMS requirements

  • Experience in troubleshooting general purpose Analyzers and sample system problems

  • 10 years or more of reliability experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or military environment

This role is subject to a pre-hire physical abilities test.

This role is not eligible for Visa sponsorship.

This role is subject to the Transportation Workers Identification Credentialing (TWIC) rule and requires the successful candidate to obtain a TWIC identification badge, allowing for unescorted access to the facility within a specific time period.
