How you will make an impact:

Responsible for the life sciences manufacturing portfolio sales in the West Coast, including handheld spectroscopy and in process mass spectrometer. The main industries for this portfolio will be Pharmaceutical, Chemical and Biotech industries. This role requires a focus on revenue generation and growth with the primary objective of assuring the West Region achieves the annual plan and contributes to the overall goals of the Chemical Analysis Division (CAD). This position is field-based, with a remote home office location convenient to reach all customers within assigned sales territory. Expectation of spending 4 workdays in the field devoted to selling, weekly. This role will cover CA, WA, OR as well as markets throughout the mid-west.

What you will do:

  • Takes ownership of the region and communicate with senior leadership on regular basis to provide feedback on account pipeline and ensure there is an active sales funnel.

  • Drives existing funnel of opportunities to accelerate closure rates

  • Works extensively with Salesforce.com CRM to handle customer account base.

  • Responsible for developing major account relationships at the executive level for the purpose of growing sales.

  • Develops and conducts sales presentations and handles day to day account activities and development.

  • Manage revenue and product forecast for the territory.

  • Develops a business plan for each major account; monitors and reports progress regularly.

  • Collaborates with other colleagues from key divisions within their district to develop and manage account growth strategies

  • Maintains and enhances technical knowledge on assigned product lines, company literature, and competitive products

  • Feeds voice of customer to the Business Unit

How you will get here:

Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in appropriate specialty (preference for Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Engineering or Life Sciences)

Experience:

3 plus years of proven sales success and closing experience.

Experience selling to industry, pharmaceutical and science companies preferred

A strong understanding of chemistry and the Life Science industry to be able to serve as a resource for our clients will be valued.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Proficient with SFDC, Excel, Microsoft Word and Outlook.

Must possess self-motivation, enthusiasm, a positive attitude, and perform as an excellent teammate!

Excellent communication skills for group presentations, customer sales presentations, and inter-company written and verbal communications.

Instrument Sales Representative – Genetic Analysis-Southern California (San Diego and Orange County) How will you make an imapct: This position is a field sales based position responsible for achieving or exceeding the assigned territory sales plan. The Genetic Analysis sales representative (GA rep) will have a strong technical acumen in the areas of qPCR, sequencing (Sanger) and microarray. The GA rep will demonstrate technical credibility to effectively consult with customers to influence key decisions on technology and product choices. Strong sales and business acumen is also required to build successful account and territory plans and translate territory strategy into business results. Required skills for this position include; selling experience in Biotech Pharma and Clinical accounts, technical familiarity with product lines and markets, funnel management and forecasting. What will you do: Scientific Consulting Acumen- Demonstrates deep technical ability to consult with customers on applications to maximize technology utilization and promote current advances in protocols, kits and capabilities. Understands and navigates competitive offerings to best position solutions. Consumable Sales Acumen- Successfully drives reagent throughput and attachment rates, driving enhanced utilization of qPCR, sequencing and microarray technologies. Consult with customers to build relationships and focus on project needs and workflows to maximize consumable usage. Business Acumen- Commitment to rigorous territory planning, market knowledge, both accurate and timely forecasting- for both run rate and big deal/project based instrument and consumable orders.
