We are looking to add a Instrument Repair Technician to our Jasper, Alabama location.

The primary responsibility of the Instrument Repair Technician is to ensure the timely repair of surgical instruments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform basic to intermediate level repairs and maintenance on surgical instrumentation using grinding wheels, screw drivers, wrenches, soldering irons, buffing wheels, and other electronic tools such as multimeters and computers along with various hand and power tools.

  • Diagnose issues with instrumentation and power equipment by testing and calibrating parts and equipment sent for repair by customers.

  • Perform preventive maintenance and service on surgical equipment and equipment used for repairs to ensure everything is in

  • Appropriately identify risks/issues and escalate in a timely manner.

  • Maintain appropriate productivity levels to ensure customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.

  • 2+ Years' relevant work experience strongly preferred.

  • 1 year of surgical instrument experience preferred.

  • Hand dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

  • Friendly, service-oriented personality.

  • Excellent attention to detail, thorough, and effective follow-through

  • Ability to follow instructions.

  • Exceptional communication and teamwork-oriented attitude.

  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to a fast-paced environment.

Knowledge/Skills/Attitude:

  • Attention to Detail - ability to efficiently and accurately allocate your cognitive abilities to achieve thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing tasks.

  • Dexterity - steady hand and goo hand-eye coordination to connect, repair or attach parts as needed.

  • Physical Stamina

  • Standing, crouching, and bending in awkward positions are common when making repairs to equipment.
  • Team Orientation & Interpersonal - highly motivated team-player with ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with all levels within and external to the organization.

  • Communication - able to effectively communicate technical information by telephone, in writing, and in person.

  • Organization & Time Management - able to work independently with minimal supervision, to ensure repairs are completed in a timely and efficient manner.

  • Technical Skills - ability to use sophisticated diagnostic tools when working on complex equipment. Familiar with equipment's internal parts and appropriate tools needed to fix them.
