Description:
The Instrument Engineer is responsible for specification, selection and configuration of process instruments, analyzers, automated valves and variable frequency drivers used in PLC based control systems.
Maintain organization between project/assignments and be responsive to deadlines.
Ensure selected instrumentation satisfies project schedule and quality objectives.
Populate databases for the development of drawings, instruments and valve data sheets and commissioning forms.
Design basic field device networks including Foundation Fieldbus, DeviceNet, and Profibus DP.
Select and develop datasheets for instruments and valves.
Prepare configuration datasheets for instruments, valves, and variable frequency drives.
Direct the configuration, programming, testing, and troubleshooting of instruments and final control elements including control valves, and VFDs.
Lead interactive instrumentation design reviews with the client, and the client's consulting engineers.
Peer-review the design work of colleagues to ensure that project quality objectives are satisfied.
Prepare budgetary instrumentation estimates for prospective projects.

Qualifications:
3+ years of experience
Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
Instrumentation or Valve Experience
Prior experience working in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry
Program, test and troubleshoot instruments and final control elements such as control valves and VFDs
Assist with client interaction and consultation
