What You'll Do

Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, you will be the expert in maintaining electric motors and systems from 120 volts to 4160 volts. You will be part of a dynamic team who drives the documentation on instruments and equipment repairs. Other duties will include:

  • Works closely with the site leadership teams to ensure our business culture is driven by our company values

  • Supports BEx (continuous improvement) initiatives through active participation, including identification of efficiency and quality improvements in work processes and problem-solving.

  • Possess and maintain an Oregon Limited Supervising Electrician License.

  • Familiar with and follow the National Electrical Code for electrical installations.

  • Follow local code procedures to track and obtain necessary electrical inspections on plant equipment.

  • Direct and train Instrument/Electrical Technicians in their assigned duties in a safe and efficient manner.

  • Maintain operating and spare equipment in an operable and reliable condition.

  • Maintain preventative maintenance programs as they are developed to provide reliability to plant equipment.

  • Maintain electric motors and systems up to 4160 volts.

  • Maintain daily work requires backlog control.

  • Maintain accurate records for timesheet verification on work scheduled and exception time.

  • Evaluate Instrument/Electrical Technicians' performance and provide coaching for continuous improvement.

  • Assist in the solicitation of bids for materials and service work in the instrument and electrical areas.

  • Maintain effective documentation for plant instruments and equipment. Use plant computer information systems to retrieve parts for repair and verify that parts and materials are correct.

  • Maintain certification to operate mobile equipment (forklift, man lift).

  • Be familiar with the plant operations process control computer system and necessary documentation.

  • Respond to call out duties according to plant needs.

  • Assist maintenance Planner in scheduling with Operations, Maintenance and Shipping departments to schedule work as needed. Make decisions and/or recommendations daily on instrument/electrical repair diagnostics and follow best-known practices for repair needs.

  • Daily work involves the safe coordination of maintenance schedules to minimize equipment downtime. Work may involve contractors or others working around the same piece of equipment. The accuracy in parts and materials identification is necessary.

What We're Looking For:

  • High School diploma or equivalent, technical college or equivalent training in the instrument and electrical field or relevant plant experience.

  • Skill areas include instrumentation (pneumatic and electronic), electrical systems (up to 4160v).

  • Preferred at least five years in the instrument and electrical field working with chemical plant or refinery equipment.

  • Familiarity with maintenance management systems for record keeping and parts requirements.

  • CMMS experience is preferable.

  • Must be training in the installation, troubleshooting, repair, and calibration of plant instruments.

  • Oregon Limited Supervising Electrician License

  • Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and team player

What You'll Do Reporting to the I&E Supervisor, you will be the expert in maintaining, repairing, troubleshooting, or replacing plant electrical and instrument equipment. You will be responsible for new construction and modification in conformance with electrical code requirements. Other duties will include: * Comply with all HSEQ Requirements * Be familiar with and follow the National Electrical Code for electrical installations * Install, troubleshoot and repair components in motor control circuits, pressure and flow switches and transmitters, and emergency equipment auto-start systems * Install, troubleshoot and repair electronic control instruments and analyzers for boiler control ad other process monitoring and control systems. * Maintain HVAC systems when required * Work with engineering to maintain process control computer information systems and hardware. Must document systems operation and modification * Bend, thread, and install electrical conduits * Install wire in conduit systems and install terminations and switches * Maintain electrical motors and systems from 120 volts to 4160 volts * Install, troubleshoot, repair, tune and calibrate components of a control loop (precision pneumatic calibrators, dead weight tester, manometers, and other specialty test meters) * Perform regular testing and calibration of plant instruments used for plant monitoring (mass specs, BUT analyzers, NOx analyzers, pH monitors) * Read blueprints and piping diagrams and follow manufacturer's specifications for equipment installation * Use plant computer information systems to retrieve parts for repairs and verify that parts and materials are correct * Respond to unscheduled plant repair/rework needs during off-shifts as requested What We're Looking For: * High school graduate or equivalent. * Minimum 4 years of experience with electrical/instrumentation installation and maintenance. * Technical training through instrument/electrical crafts, technical colleges, or relevant plant maintenance experience. * Must possess an Oregon Limited Journeyman Electrical License. * Demonstrate journeyman skills in relevant maintenance skill areas. Familiar with maintenance management systems for record keeping and documentation. * Mechanical aptitude, with an understanding of plant equipment and documentation skills. * Basic computer skills including MS Office.
