The Instrument Mechanic installs, repairs, maintains, and adjusts indicating, recording, telemetering, and controlling instruments used to measure and control variables, such as pressure, flow, temperature, motion, force, and chemical composition, using hand tools and precision instruments. This worker disassembles malfunctioning instruments, examines and tests mechanisms and circuitry for defects; troubleshoots equipment in or out of control system and replaces or repairs defective parts, reassembles instrument and tests assembly for conformance with specifications, using instruments, such as potentiometer, resistance bridge, manometer, and pressure gauge; inspects instruments periodically, and makes minor calibration adjustments to insure functioning within specified standards. This mechanic may adjust and repair final control mechanisms, such as automatically controlled valves or positioners, and may calibrate instruments according to established standards. All duties must be performed within the specified safety regulations of the company and the position. May perform other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

The position may require lifting up to 75 pounds, walking, and standing for extended periods of time, bending, pushing, pulling, some climbing and balancing may be needed. Significant hand and finger dexterity required. Environment, while generally hazard free, may include some exposure to dust and varying temperatures.

Required Job Qualifications:

  • HS Diploma or Equivalent

  • Security Clearance (or ability to obtain upon hire)

  • Three to five years in HVAC equipment and controls maintenance and repair in an industrial/commercial/data center environment

  • Backflow Prevention Certification required

  • Universal EPA Certification required

Desired Job Qualifications:

Three to five years in HVAC and instrument control maintenance and repair in an industrial setting is preferred

Necessary Licenses or Certifications:

  • Universal HVAC certification is required

Work Schedule:

  • Full-Time (40 hours per week)
  • Position may include some shift work and Saturdays and Sundays

We currently seek a HVAC Mechanic with large-scale commercial/ industrial experience to join our Operations Team based in Oahu, Hawaii Responsibilities: * Install, maintain, test and repair: HVAC systems, fan coil units, heat pumps, air handling units, related piping systems, control valves and controls and all other related equipment, in accordance with the State of Hawaii. * Troubleshoots, recharges, cleans, repairs, and checks all heat pump systems with the Ameresco Portfolio. * Make necessary adjustments and calibration of related control devices. * Perform HVAC related preventive maintenance. * Estimate time and materials needed on particular jobs, as required. * Prepares and updates prints as necessary. * Ensure compliance with company, industry, and regulatory safety standards and protocols. * Perform other duties as required. Minimal Qualifications: * High School Diploma * Trade or Vocational School education * Types II and III CFC Certification required * Journeyman level experience with a strong plumbing and mechanical background. Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC skills.
