Overview

The Instrumentation/Calibration Technician II is responsible for a range of tasks, including preventive maintenance, calibration, testing, troubleshooting, and repair of various circuits, components, analytical equipment, and instrumentation used in research and development, as well as manufacturing laboratory equipment. Additionally, this role involves maintaining the environmental monitoring system and conducting temperature mapping for all laboratory cold storage units.

Responsibilities

In addition to the duties of an Instrumentation/Calibration Technician II, this role includes the following responsibilities:

  • Instrumentation/Calibration: Perform general use, function, calibration, and preventive maintenance of designated equipment and instrumentation.

  • Certification Maintenance: Ensure active certification status of all temperature storage devices and calibration standards, meeting compliance requirements.

  • Record Management: Review and sign asset records in the calibration database, containing equipment details linked to the service history of the equipment.

  • Service Documentation: Review and sign work records for specific services performed on equipment.

  • Liaison Duties: Act as the liaison for response and scheduling of unscheduled service events.

  • Equipment Specification: Collaborate with Equipment Owners to complete equipment specifications, determine installation locations, requirements for installation and consumables, spare parts, utility, and IT needs, verify utility availability, and identify equipment-specific document requirements.

  • Initiate and review change requests, collaborations, corrective actions/preventive actions (CAPAs), non-conformance material report (NCMRs), etc. within electronic quality management system (EQMS)

  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for electronic asset management system

  • Equipment Procurement: Initiate service, utility, ancillary item, and spare parts requisitions; facilitate facility preparations; and update or create equipment-specific documents.

  • SOP Development: Write calibration and/or preventive maintenance Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for new equipment implementations.

  • Subject Matter Expert (SME): Serve as the Lab Services SME in audits, investigations, interdepartmental collaborations, and documentation processes.

  • Database Administration: Administer Blue Mountain Regulatory Asset Management (BMRAM), Vaisala view

Linc, and Rainin PipetteX databases.

  • Performance Reporting: Present key performance indicators (KPIs) for the Lab Services group to management, including both leading and lagging metrics.

  • Safety Committee Representation: Represent the Lab Services group on the Safety Committee.

  • Hazard Assessment: Determine if assets require a Hazard Assessment.

Qualifications

Requrements:

Successful proficiency and competency of all essential functions of Instrumentation/Calibration Technician IIApplied sciences, engineering, instrumentation or industrial automation degree and commensurate experience is required• Basic understanding of small equipment components and functionality • Must be willing and able to work on call as essential staff on nights/weekends/holidays • Basic computer skills (Excel, Word) and good communication skills• Ability to work both as a part of a team and independently• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds• Valid Washington driver's license

At Bruker, base salary is part of our total compensation. The estimated base salary range for this full-time position is between $37,000 and $57,000 provides an opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role.The base salary for the role will depend on a several job-related factors, including, but not limited to education, training, experience, the geographic location of the successful candidate, skills, competencies, job-related knowledge and travel requirements for this position.
