RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in meeting compliance with OSHA, ISO, and RC regulations.
  • Provide consistent support of plant policies, rules, and regulations.
  • Participate in Safety Reviews, PSSR's and other initiatives as needed.
  • Support/provide I&E related safety training/studies (i.e. NFPA 70 Update, Arc Flash, etc.)
  • Support/manage the calibration requirements of the certified test equipment and safety gear.
  • Work with site personnel to troubleshoot problems affecting plant operations and help develop permanent solutions.
  • Provide oversight/management of contractor work as requested
  • Support/manage priorities during site turnarounds and as requested
  • Develop/consolidate common regional I&E procedures/practices
  • Support new I&E Employee training and orientations.
  • Manage the coordination and scheduling of electrical infrastructure reliability, maintenance, and improvement activities
  • Identify and recommend best practices to ensure reliable systems
  • Point of contact for specialty services (VFD, UPS, Transformers, etc.)
  • Network with peers both internal and external to Evonik
  • Coordinate and lead quarterly regional I&E Meetings
  • Utility provider liaison (CenterPoint, Dow, Air Products, Sekisui)
  • Seek out new technologies to ensure the sites are aware of the best available options.
  • Perform Design and/or design review on current process or new projects.
  • Share learnings from other sites and support implementation of shared learnings
  • Development and support predictive maintenance programs.
  • Manage opportunities for regional sharing of related spare parts and tools

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering or adjacent discipline or high school and equivalent experience.

  • This is a seasoned position with a minimum of seven (7) years' experience in a production facilities with a focus on electrical and instrumentation equipment.

  • The wide variety of highly technical equipment is constantly improving and changing, therefore the incumbent must keep awareness of emerging technology so that he/she is able to recommend and apply the next generation equipment to wide variety of processes.

  • Accomplishments that demonstrate the spirit of cooperation, initiative and teamwork.

  • Comprehensive and thorough knowledge of the functionality and operating principles of equipment associated with chemical industries

  • Substantial general work experience together with comprehensive job related experience in own area of expertise to fully competent level.

  • Basic experience of coordinating the work of others.

  • Independently supports business processes with comprehensive understanding and effective use of standard office equipment and standard software packages, while also providing guidance and training to others.

  • Identifies, assesses, prioritizes and manages risks in a production process without supervision and provides technical guidance when required.

  • Applies comprehensive knowledge and skills to independently manage and apply safe systems of work while providing guidance and training to others.
