General Statement of Duties:

The Biology Department seeks applications for two full-time, temporary faculty positions at the Instructor or Assistant Professor level starting September 1, 2019. The successful candidates will be broadly trained biologists with outstanding teaching skills specific to undergraduate students. Duties will include teaching majors' introductory biology, cell biology and/or Global Information Systems (GIS). Ability to work in a collegial environment, and service (committee work, student advising, etc) to department and University also expected.

One-year full-time temporary positions:

Biology

  • Instructor

Teach introductory lab courses and GIS for Biology majors.

Biology

  • Assistant Professor (Non-tenure track)

Teach Cell Biology lecture and lab as well as courses in our introductory sequence, General Biology I and II.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications for Biology Instructor Position

M.S. and minimum of three years teaching experience in introductory biology and GIS at the undergraduate level.

Minimum Qualifications for the Assistant Professor Position

Ph.D. in Biology and experience teaching cell biology and general biology courses.

Salary: $115,000-$125,000 General Statement of Duties: Reporting to the Vice President for Student Affairs (VPSA), the Dean of Students (DoS) is a strategic partner for the Division of Student Affairs with a focus on enhancing the student experience and increasing student success. The DoS will promote opportunities for students to raise awareness, understanding of differences, collaboration of cross-culture groups, and foster a sense of communal relationship among all students. The DoS is responsible for the supervision of Residence Life, Career Services, Student Conduct, Counseling Services and Health Services. The DoS will assist the Vice President in providing vision, leadership, and strategic direction to ensure the delivery of effective and quality service to students.
