Instructor, Vocational Nursing (Jasper Location)

The Instructor will teach at the Jasper Extension Campus and will receive program guidance from the Vocational Nursing Program Coordinator and the Chair of the Allied Health Department. The duties of this position include instruction in the classroom, skills lab, and clinical instruction and supervision.

Serves on assigned committees, advises and recruits students. Continues professional development. Performs other related duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications

Must be a Registered Nurse and have a current license to practice in the State of Texas. Three (3) years of nursing experience following graduation from an approved nursing program.

Minimum degree: Associate Degree in Nursing

Working Conditions:

Normal classroom and lab setting. Some online teaching may be required.

Clinical experiences are typically performed in the hospital, community setting, nursing homes and simulation lab. Some hazardous conditions may exist.

Preferred Qualifications

More than three (3) years of teaching experience, experience in public speaking, and intermediate skills in using Microsoft Office Word and PowerPoint.

Experience using the BlackBoard Learning Management System.

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or higher is preferred.
