Job Summary:

The Department of Psychology on the Downtown Denver (Auraria) Campus has an opening for a limited term, full-time Instructor for the 24-25 academic year. This position is a nine-month appointment with 90% teaching and 10% service workload. It will entail teaching both in-person and online (remote, asynchronous) lower-division and upper-division undergraduate courses in Psychology.

Courses taught will be key courses within either the Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) or the Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree program (including introductory psychology, statistics, research methods, human development, behavioral neuroscience, the history of psychology) and related courses. Teaching load is 9 courses (90%) per academic year.

Instructors will also be expected to provide service in the department as 10% of their appointment.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

  • MA/MS, PsyD/Ph.D. or ABD in Psychology or closely related field

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior teaching experience with in-person and online teaching proof of pedagogical effectiveness.

  • Experience with various types of teaching technologies (i.e. Canvas, Powerpoint, Zoom etc).

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students and employees at all levels throughout the institution.

  • Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $46,770 - $64,000 at 1.0 FTE.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
