The successful candidates will teach various core courses at the University of Arizona School of Journalism. The School of Journalism and the University of Arizona, located in a diverse, rich community just 60 miles from the U.S.-Mexico border, highly value diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Candidates should have significant media experience preferably in digital storytelling utilizing video, audio, text, data and social media platforms. Candidates should be enthusiastic about teaching and collaborating with other faculty and be innovative, creative self-starters. Finalists will be expected to present a vision for what journalism students should be able to do when they graduate, how the candidate would accomplish that in their own classes and where they fit in to the school's specialty areas.
Finalists will also be asked to make a teaching demonstration that highlights their skills and abilities.
This career-track (non-tenure eligible) position begins in January 2025 and is renewable pending a satisfactory performance review.

Duties & Responsibilities
Duties & Responsibilities:
●Teach three classes per semester.
●Work with students to plan, direct, edit and publish multimedia work in the School of Journalism's media outlets and enter it in contests.
●Network with professional editors and producers to place stories in outlets in Arizona and beyond.
●Assist students in making connections for internships and jobs.
●Perform service/outreach to the School of Journalism, the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences and the University of Arizona.
