The Instructor of Mass Communication-Video Production will teach a variety of courses within the Broadcasting and Mass Communication major, primarily introductory and advanced courses in video and television production.
Candidates will also engage in online teaching, undergraduate advisement, departmental service, and university service.
In addition, Instructor of Mass Communication-Video Production will be expected to display a demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching, commitment to undergraduate education, and possess communication and interpersonal skills sufficient to work effectively with an increasingly diverse array of students and colleagues.
Required Qualifications: Masters degree in mass communication or related field by time of appointment Professional experience in television production, including multi-camera studio production and/or live multi-camera production.
Evidence of teaching effectiveness and a clearly articulated teaching philosophy.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience with digital platforms.
Experience in online teaching, teaching a diverse population of students.
Grant writing/acquisition experience.
The ability to incorporate issues of gender, race/ethnicity, and/or comparative global perspectives into course materials.

Description of Department: Communication Studies is the largest department in the School of Communication, Media, and the Arts, serving approximately 900 majors and minors with close to 50 full and part-time faculty members.
The department offers majors in public relations, broadcasting and mass communication, communication and social interaction, and journalism.
We also offer an online degree completion program in broadcasting and mass communication and a graduate certificate program in Integrated Media.
We are dedicated to excellence in undergraduate education and we are committed to providing students with the relevant interdisciplinary experiences.
Facilities include digital production and news studios, new media production labs, high-definition editing suites, WRVO-FM, a NPR station, student FM and television operations, and a student newspaper.
