Job Description

The instructor is a subject matter expert who is responsible for delivering Loscalzo courses using the materials provided by Loscalzo in accordance with NASBA regulatory requirements for continuing professional education. Loscalzo provides the instructor with excellent educational content; the instructor is responsible for delivering that content in a compelling and effective manner and delivering exceptional classroom experiences to Loscalzo students. If the instructor also desires to write and technically review Loscalzo courses, such assignments are agreed upon by Loscalzo and the instructor. Instructors who are responsible for writing and technically reviewing courses must be subject matter experts in the area or capable of learning the material as appropriate. Loscalzo instructors are CPAs unless they are subject matter experts in another area for which they are responsible for writing, reviewing and/or instructing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates excellent teaching skills and ability to engage students in the classroom.

  • Creates an outstanding learning environment for each student.

  • Keeps class on task.

  • Serves as an industry expert while keeping the focus on the education content through preparation and study of the Loscalzo provided content.

  • Addresses student questions throughout classes and in follow-up as requested.

  • Runs class time schedule in accordance with course materials.

  • Adheres to specific requirements as dictated, including but not limited to attendance, time schedule, and client/student concerns.

  • Maintains regular communication with product line management to stay informed of scheduling, curriculum updates, location changes, and evaluation feedback.

  • Maintains regular communication with product line management to communicate client/student concerns such as new course and course improvement ideas, suggestions for new training methods, course feedback, etc.

  • May contribute to Loscalzo's thought leadership efforts.

  • Other duties as assigned.

If engaged to write and/or technically review course material:

  • Demonstrate subject matter expertise.

  • If engaged to write, demonstrate excellent writing skills and the ability to effectively organize course content.

  • If engaged to write, develop course materials in accordance with NASBA standards as provided by Loscalzo, including interactive course content.

  • Write and/or technically review course material as assigned by the Loscalzo production team and/or the Loscalzo Product Director.

  • Write and/or technically review course material to meet deadlines in accordance with the schedule agreed upon between the instructor and the Loscalzo production team.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting/Tax - unless another specialty is appropriate for the subject matter of the training

  • Minimum of ten years' experience Audit, accounting, and/or tax - unless another specialty is appropriate for the subject matter of the training

  • Must be a Certified Public Accountant unless the instructor is a subject matter expert in another subject for which he/she is hired to train. Other certification requirements may apply as appropriate.

  • Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel and Powerpoint

  • Must be able to utilize above information systems proficiently

  • Outstanding teaching skills. The ability to manage a classroom while presenting complex accounting concepts. The demonstrated ability to create an interactive learning environment.

  • Instructors must be personable, sincere and approachable.

  • Excellent time management, organizational, and attention to detail skills. Proficient with Adobe software.

Our summer series offers a range of programs for our students to get involved with to further develop them as musicians and young men and women in our society. These programs include choir and drumline. Reporting to the Director of Youth Programs, the Program Coordinator will oversee and manage a specific MusicianShip Program. After School Program Site Coordinators will be responsible for the operational success of all the disciplines offered in The MusicianShip’s After School Program, ensuring seamless team management, team development, program delivery, and quality control. The Site Coordinator will monitor the consulting Instructors for the program—ensuring that they serve as effective educators and mentors, while aiding in the execution of organizational goals. The Site Coordinator will serve as the head administrator for select After School Program sites and will be responsible for the program’s grant compliance, when applicable. <p><br></p>After School Site Coordinators perform a wide range of duties, including, but not limited to, the following: Planning<ul> <li>Review and execute the Director of Youth Program’s Program Plan, by gathering the necessary resources and handling required administration </li> <li>Oversee the delivery of the overall program and its activities in accordance with the mission and the goals of the organization ● Organize and participate in recruitment events to increase program enrollment, by coordinating with Director of Community Engagement, Director of Youth Programs and community partners </li> <li>Attend regularly scheduled meetings with the Director of Youth Programs to provide updates on After School Program operations </li> <li>Schedule regular meetings (either on-site or virtual) with After School Program instructors to assess their programming needs </li> <li>Provide Director of Youth Programs with snack/water and supply needs as it pertains to After School Programs </li> </ul><p>Organizing</p><ul> <li>Evaluate program participants, by capturing student responses through hard copy or digital forms, collecting/storing completed forms, and furnishing documents to the Director of Youth Programs </li> <li>Collect weekly student attendance records from Instructors either in person or through virtual distribution </li> <li>Ensure that program activities operate within the policies and procedures of the organization and their compliance with all relevant legislation and professional standards </li> <li>Prepare forms and records required for key stakeholder* site visits, by gathering, storing, and maintaining forms and records in a well-labeled, site-specific program binder; communicate with Director of Youth Programs regarding specific needs </li> </ul><p>Supervisory Role </p><ul> <li>Monitor instructor effectiveness, attendance, timeliness, and organization compliance by conducting planned and unplanned site visits to partner sites </li> <li>Ensure that instructors are meeting the expectations of partner sites by gathering regular feedback from on-site staff and relaying shortcomings and triumphs to the Director of Youth Programs </li> <li>Communicate with clients and other stakeholders to gain community support for the program, by hosting and attending MusicianShip recruitment and performance events </li> <li>Engage volunteers for appropriate program activities using established volunteer management practices </li> </ul><p>Program Funding and Reporting </p><ul> <li>Ensure that the program operates within the approved budget, by communicating program spending with the executive leadership and accounting teams </li> <li>Collect funds related to student wardrobe requirements, fundraising, donation, and ticket sales. </li> <li>Monitor the program activities on a regular basis and conduct an annual evaluation according to the program evaluation framework </li> <li>Report evaluation findings to the Executive Director and recommend changes to enhance the program, as appropriate</li> </ul><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><p><strong>Education and Experience</strong></p><ul> <li>Some college is preferred </li> <li>Some exposure in development, organization, and implementation of business practices necessary </li> <li>Some experience in youth development field or youth programming </li> <li>Reliable personal transportation non metro</li> </ul><p><strong>Knowledge, skills and abilities </strong></p><ul> <li>Demonstrated knowledge of program management </li> <li>Strong communication and problem-solving skills </li> <li>Ability to communicate with a variety of education organizations </li> <li>Highly organized with experience in professional writing </li> <li>Working-knowledge of social media platforms </li> </ul><p><strong>Proficiency in the use of computers for: </strong> </p><ul> <li>Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) </li> <li>Simple accounting </li> <li>Databases </li> <li>E-mail </li> <li>Internet </li> </ul> The Musicianship Washington DC
