Position Summary
The University of Southern Indiana seeks applications for a renewable, 12-month instructor or non-tenure track contract assistant professor of Nursing.
Position begins Fall 2023, or when filled. This is a federally funded grant position through May 31, 2026. The University of Southern Indiana will review converting the position to be university-funded after the grant period ends.
Duties/Responsibilities
This position will assume classroom teaching responsibilities as well as clinical supervision of students in the graduate and undergraduate nursing programs.
Required Knowledge and Skills
Qualified candidates must have a master's degree in Nursing. Candidates with a graduate degree other than Nursing will be considered qualified if they hold an active registered nurse license and have nursing practice experience.
The candidate must hold a graduate degree in a field appropriate to their nursing faculty teaching or clinical responsibilities. If such a candidate is selected for the position, their hiring is contingent upon them having a written plan of study for completion of the master's of science in Nursing degree (MSN) and must matriculate into a college or university MSN program within 10 months of hire and must demonstrate orderly progression toward the degree completion throughout their appointment.
To qualify for the contract assistant professor position, candidates must have a doctoral degree. ABD may be considered at the rank of Instructor if a doctoral degree is not conferred by hire date.
All candidates must also hold a valid and unencumbered Indiana (or compact) RN license.
