The Department of Biology and Microbiology at Northwestern State University of Louisiana seeks applications from enthusiastic individuals interested in a non-tenure or tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor of Biology or Instructor of Biology position beginning August 12, 2024. The applicant must have at least a Master of Science Degree in biology or a comparable degree in the Biomedical or Microbiology field. A Ph.D. is preferred. The successful candidate must teach some combination of undergraduate lecture and laboratory courses in the areas of general biology and genetics to science and non-science majors. Preference will be given to applicants with prior college-level teaching and practical experiential learning knowledge. Minimum Qualifications

• Shall be qualified to teach in the field of study.

• Shall be effective in teaching the assigned subject material.

• Shall meet the required standards defined by the University.

• Shall be proficient in curriculum development, instruction, evaluation, and academic counseling.

• For an Instructor, shall hold a minimum of a Master of Science degree in Biology or related field and at least 18 graduate hours in Biology.

• For an Assistant/Associate Professor, shall hold a Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree.
