Job Summary:
Instructor of English with a specialization in developmental writing. Requires firm commitment--shared among all faculty-for teaching composition in a humanities-based English program.
The ideal candidate will have experience mentoring developmental and/or ESL students and demonstrated excellence in teaching. MA in English or related field required.
Work Performed:
Teach 5 English writing courses per semester, during the Fall and Spring semesters, with very occasional exchanges of a writing course for a lower-division literature or creative writing course based on departmental need.
Faculty service in accordance with instructor load and department needs.
Necessary Qualifications:
MA in English or closely related discipline.
Preferred Qualifications:
Enthusiasm for and demonstrated experience in teaching developmental English and/or English as a Second Language.
Ability to teach a range of Composition and Technical Writing courses, as the need arises.
