The Department of Administration of Justice at the University of Hawai'i at Hilo invites applications for the position of Instructor of Administration of Justice.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Teach undergraduate courses (equivalent to 12 credit hours per semester), including Intro to Administration of Justice, Crime and Society, Criminal Justice, Policing and Punishment, Criminal Law and Procedure, and Research Methodology
Hold weekly on-campus office hours.
Assist with student events.
Engage in service to the Department, College, and University as needed/required.
Minimum Qualifications:
A Ph.D. in Criminal Justice, Criminology, or related social science field is preferred at the time of appointment, but qualified candidates with ABD status will be considered. A Juris Doctorate degree will not be considered sufficient.
Demonstrated excellence in university-level online and face-to-face instruction is required.
Desirable Qualifications:
Documented excellence in teaching the courses listed under Duties.
Documented excellence in online instruction in various formats, including synchronous, asynchronous, and Hybrid-Flexible models.
Experience teaching in a multi-cultural setting.
Strong evidence of research productivity, or clear potential for developing a strong program of research in the area of U.S. criminal justice (field of specialization open).
