Job Summary
Somerset Community College invites applications for a full-time Nursing Instructor on the Somerset Campus.
Job Duties:
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Teaching nursing courses (day and/or evening/weekend programs), supervising students in the college laboratory, and clinical areas associated with the nursing program. Position may have an emphasis on teaching and supervising of students in laboratory, simulation exercises and clinical education for multiple programs. Duties may include management of lab and simulation areas, with other program duties as assigned.
Other duties include academic advising, internal service (committees, attendance and participation at meetings), educational leadership, professional development, and external service in the community. Other duties as assigned.
Schedule should be flexible to allow for working with both associate degree and practical nursing programs and to provide assistance to students requiring it.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) from a regionally accredited university or college with approved plan for obtaining a Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN) within five years, and at least three years of related experience. All applicants must meet licensure requirements of the occupation and hold an unrestricted license to practice registered nursing in the state of Kentucky.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) from a regionally accredited university or college and at least three years of related experience.
