Instructor Nursing Education - RN - Days

Join a patient focused tight-knit team of nurse educators led by a dynamic leader, responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating educational programs for nursing and support staff. These programs will cover the Psychiatry division and general nursing programs as needed. Use your nursing experience and education in a meaningful way by guiding the next generation of top-talent nurses!

Conduct clinical rounds. Identify the individual and collective learning needs of staff. Develop course curriculum and teach education programs, incorporating research findings and using cutting-edge technology (e.g., online learning modules). Promote best clinical practices and on going professional development . Actively participate in Nursing orientation program and evaluate staff competence.

This is full-time 7.5 hour position located at NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital. This position will support education for the Medical Surgical division.

Preferred Criteria

  • Experience as a Nurse Instructor

  • Passion for combining innovation with education, and the ability to connect well with staff

Required Criteria

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) and Master's Degree in related area

  • Current New York State RN license

  • 2+ years of Registered Nurse experience in Med/Surg

  • Preceptor and/or leadership experience

  • BLS from the American Heart Association

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and an exceptional level of energy and vitality
