POSITION OVERVIEW

The Hatch Instructor is responsible for overseeing on the job training for all new hires on the knit and medical floors.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assisting in Orientation and Safety training
  • Providing new hires with all necessary PPE and tools
  • Maintain training Matrix
  • Facilitate timely training certifications
  • Be liaison between manager and new hires
  • Regular check-ins with On-The-Job-Trainers
  • Cover positions according to production needs

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Plant wide knowledge spanning multiple departments including knit floor and medical floor.
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish)
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Suite)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Work well with team members
  • Ability to lead

SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve problems
  • Must be able to read and understand knit specification sheets
  • Able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Able to work well with various groups of people such as vendors, customers, Milliken associates whether individually or in a team environment
  • Able to work well and communicate with production associates in order to assist with troubleshooting
  • Able to lift and move objects of up to 50 pounds
  • Able to lead a class setting for different trainings
  • Basic ISO 9001 knowledge
  • Ability to create processes and procedures

AUTHORIZED TRAINING TIME

  • 6 months

  • Scissors
  • Knit machine
  • Pallet-jack

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT USED:

  • Ear plugs
  • Safety Glasses

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS FREQUENCY, AMOUNT, OR DESCRIPTION

  1. Standing: Ability to stand while working >95% of day
  • Sitting: Ability to sit down
  • Moving: Ability to move throughout plant: >95% of day
  • Lifting: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ascending/Descending: Ability to walk upstairs, climb ladders, climb on

knit machine step boards (approx. 11"-14") >25% of day

  • Push/Pull/Reach: Ability to push/pull fabric rolls, Boxes (approx.

50-150 lbs.) 15% of day

  • Bending: Ability to pick up objects from the floor 25% of day
  • Visual Acuity: Visual acuity adequate to perform job duties,

including reading information from printed sources and

computer screens and identifying defects in fabric. 100% of day

  1. Cognitive: Alert. Able to make decisions, reason, and understand

information. 100% of day

WORK ENVIRONMENT/SAFETY-SENSITIVE POSITION

This job operates in a manufacturing facility. This position is a safety-sensitive position and regularly works around moving mechanical parts and powered industrial vehicles. Noise level is generally loud.

SHIFT/WORK HOURS

Shift schedule will depend on open positions at time of hire and will be communicated with new hire paperwork. Weekends and holidays are scheduled depending on business demands.
