This adjunct instructor develops and teaches concepts and strategies for a variety of Mathematics courses. May require teaching courses at MATC campuses, business, community, other sites, and online during the day, evening, and/or weekend. Related duties include participation in department and advisory meetings, department and college functions, course and curriculum development in both traditional and non-traditional formats. Must also be willing to teach high school dual enrollment courses, which includes MPS students.
Prepare for and deliver instruction and perform teaching-related activities.
Manage the classroom/laboratory.
Develop curriculum and monitor and revise as appropriate to maintain course effectiveness; assist in program evaluation.
Manage equipment, supplies and materials.
Assess student performance and advise students on academic issues.
Collaborate with the advisory committee in the program area.
Attend departmental and institutional meetings.
Promote the education/training program, participate in efforts to recruit and retain students, and participate in efforts to market MATC.
Support student organizations and activities.
Develop relationships with business and industry.
Complete program evaluation and follow-up.
Maintain certification, continue professional development and stay current in the field.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Educational Requirements: Must have at least ONE of the following.
Desired qualifications above and beyond the minimums:
At least eight (8) coursework credits in Calculus specifically
At least nine (9) GRADUATE level coursework credits in Math specifically
Previous teaching experience
Experience in teaching and/or developing curriculum in a variety of classroom environments including in-person and online

Start Date: This position supports the General Education Pathway and is available to start for the Fall semester; approximately August 18th, 2024.
Hours: This position is up to a .5 FTE and will require teaching courses at MATC campuses, business, community, other sites, and/or online during the day, evening, and/or weekend. Hours, location, and modality are based on enrollment and departmental need. Out of state applicants must be willing to relocate to the Milwaukee/SE Wisconsin area.
Salary: Beginning in the fall of 2024 the starting hourly wage for all part-time faculty is $40 per course hour of teaching. Part-time faculty are also compensated for an additional 45 minutes of time for each hour of instruction to cover office hours and prep time. This starting hourly wage is non-negotiable.
