JEVS Human Services has an opportunity for you to join our The Choice is Yours (TCY) program. TCY is an innovative diversion program for first-time, nonviolent felony drug offenders facing a prison sentence. Upon successful completion, graduates are given the opportunity to have their criminal records expunged.
TCY is operated in partnership with the Philadelphia District Attorney's Office (DA), Municipal Court and the Public Defenders Association (PD); you have a unique opportunity to become part of this dedicated team.
As an Instructor, you will provide job readiness instruction and career advisement to clients. In this role you will be responsible for ensuring active participation by all clients in classroom activities and ensuring all program requirements are being met.
Your day-to-day will include:
Utilize the JEVS 21st Century Skills Job Readiness curriculum, to administer interactive experiential learning activities in a classroom environment.
Ensure that client's time and attendance and activities are meeting program requirements.
Document all contacts with clients and maintain accurate and timely records of attendance and other pertinent program data. Input data into JEVS ETO database.
Utilize various approaches and collaborations such as Career Scope, Job Gateway, Career Builder, Craigslist etc. for job search
Collaborate with the JEVS PA Career Link for career advisement and job development.
Ensure each client has an updated rsum
Associates or Bachelor's Degree in adult education or related field.
2+ years of experience as an instructor in an educational, human service, or other equivalent training
Proficient in MS Office applications (especially MS Word and Excel).
Willing to work some evenings and Saturdays.
