The Instructor will work with post-secondary and secondary students through Gateway's dual credit partnerships.

Faculty facilitate student learning and initiate and participate in efforts to consistently improve the level of student success. As learning facilitators, faculty consistently assess learning outcomes and their own teaching effectiveness.

This position reports to the Associate Dean, Manufacturing Engineering & IT.

  • Deliver curriculum, monitor, and make recommendations as appropriate to maintain course effectiveness; assist in program evaluation.

  • Effective management of the classroom and/or laboratory.

  • Promote and engage in student recruitment, retention and completion goals fostering a culture of professionalism and inclusive learning.

  • Monitor and assess student learning outcomes and provide timely and frequent feedback to students on academic performance.

  • Participate in advisory and/or institutional committees.

  • Maintain certification, continue professional development and stay current in field and/or discipline.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering PLUS 2 years (4,000 hours) of relevant experience with 1 year w/in the last 5 years

OR

  • Associate degree in HVAC or related field PLUS 4 years (8,000 hours) of occupational experience in HVAC with 1 year w/in the last 5 years

OR

  • Active journey-level status in HVAC PLUS 2 years (4,000 hours) of occupational experience in HVAC with 1 year w/in the last 5 years

OR 

  • 7  years (14,000 hours) of occupational experience in HVAC with 1 year w/in the last 5 years

OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY:

  • Ability to work in a fast pace agile environment.

  • Ability to work with a diverse workforce and student population

  • Ability to use student learning management systems

  • Culturally competent, including strong emotional intelligence and the ability to engage and build relationships with constituents and underrepresented communities.
