Job Summary
Instructors at the ELC are TESOL professionals who teach 18 hours of ELC courses each quarter, averaged over the academic year. They may also teach other courses within the College of Arts and Sciences (CoAS) as needed and as assigned by the ELC Director.
Essential Functions
Teaching courses as scheduled. In case of absence, finding substitute teachers in accordance with ELC/Drexel policies. Being available to students, scheduling, posting and holding office hours (a minimum of one hour per week per course taught). Administering course evaluations at midterm and the end of the term. Accepting observers into your classroom as scheduled.
Submitting student grades in accordance with ELC/Drexel policy. Maintaining accurate documentation of course records to justify the grades submitted.
Attending faculty and staff meetings and ELC activities as scheduled.
Serving on the Academic Affairs Committee. Participating in student placement activities as needed.
Meeting requirements for professional development in accordance with ELC/Drexel policies. Mentoring new faculty during their first quarter.
Required Qualifications
Minimum of a Master's Degree in ESL/EFL/TESOL
Minimum of a year experience.
At least one year of ESL/EFL teaching experience at the university level.
Experience with online language teaching, instructional technology, and curriculum development.

This is a full-time Faculty position classified as Exempt. The salary offered is based on the successful candidate's qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
