Guilford Technical Community College (GTCC) is currently the fourth largest of NC. Community College System's 58 institutions. Teaching faculty at Guilford Technical Community College are responsible for supporting student success by creating an optimum learning environment, responding to student needs, managing effective instructional activities, developing curriculum courses, modeling employability skills, demonstrating professionalism, developing cooperative work relationships with other faculty and staff, supporting college administrative requirements, and maintaining competency in their instructional field. He/she will be responsible for quality instruction and for effective participation and interest in the total affairs of the college.
The Aviation Manufacturing Instructor will be responsible for delivering training material that will instruct students on metallic structure standards used in manufacturing and typical structural repairs, per technical documentation, within a classroom and laboratory environment. He or/ she will have the depth of knowledge and experience to demonstrate such typical structural fabrication and repairs per local industry specifications.

Education Preferred
Bachelor's degree in an aviation related program from a regionally accredited post-secondary institution
Professional certifications in aviation manufacturing
Experience Required
5 years of relevant experience in the aviation manufacturing industry or a related field
Teaching and/or industry training experience in manufacturing topics in any of the following formats: teaching courses, training/mentoring sessions, conducting professional development workshops, and/or other continuing education seminars
Experience Preferred
Greater than 5 years of relevant experience in aviation manufacturing industry or a related field
Experience with advanced composite fabrication and repairs
Post-secondary teaching experience in Aviation Manufacturing courses/training programs
Experience with assessment of student learning outcomes
Experience with distance learning and/or alternate instructional delivery systems
KSA Required

Represent the aviation department and GTCC in a professional manner
Demonstrate behavior that reflects a professional image expected of aviation industry employees
Demonstrate and supervise instructional laboratories in the following areas: Manufacture metallic components to a close tolerance. Common structure and stringer repairs. Blueprint reading, Installation, removal of various fasteners, Tools for Measurement. Torque applications. Securing Devices. Sealants and processes. General sheet metal practices
The following (compliance) training is required and must be completed within the first 30 days of hire with annual refresher training thereafter: (additional training may be added as needed)
