Provide instruction that fulfills the requirements of the NC Board of Massage and Bodywork Therapy and the North Carolina Community College System for Clinical Massage courses.

Duties

Provide Instruction of AB Tech. Clinical Massage Curriculum in didactic, skills, clinic and supervision of diverse students.

Minimum Requirements

1.Graduation from a regionally accredited institution in Massage Therapy. Licensed and in good standing as a Licensed Massage Therapist in NC;

2.Licensed physician, dentist, chiropractor, osteopath, RN, Physical therapist, occupational therapist, acupuncturist; or hold a state license or certification from a state other than NC in massage and bodywork therapy for a least two years;

3.Two years of documented exceptional work experience as a licensed massage therapist;

4.Computer literacy, particularly, Word, Excel and Zoom (virtual learning);

5.Experience teaching adult learners which must include;

a. Certification to teach a trademarked modality if certification available;

b. Competent in the fundamental knowledge and methodology of teaching possess a professional level of skills, knowledge, and practical experience in every subject they teach;

c. Two years' experience teaching Anatomy and Physiology at community college or tradeschool;

6.Experience in Clinical Massage and must be trained in teaching methods that include presentation skills; development and implementation of lesson plans; dynamics of the teacher/student relationship; management of the classroom environment; evaluation of student performance; instructional strategies for the adult learner; accommodations for students with special needs; knowledge of the school's administrative policies and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

1.Community College teaching experience in clinical massage

2.Five years' documented exceptional work experience as a licensed massage therapist.

3.Education in teaching and learning principles for adult education, including curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation.
