Primary Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be a communication generalist teaching courses in primarily service level courses such as public speaking with willingness to teach other courses in area of interest or as needed by the department. The person hired will teach a 15-hour course load per semester and participate in service activities including active participation in recruitment and retention activities. Additional expectations include undergraduate advising and service to the university.
Master's in Communication Studies or closely related field (Degree must be from a regionally accredited or internationally accredited/ government certified university.)
Successful, relevant experience teaching at the university level
Willingness to work with student organizations and department, college, and university committees
Demonstrated strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Demonstrated ability to enhance or provide instruction online by utilizing a Learning Management System
Demonstrated commitment to collegiality when interacting with others within the University community
Demonstrated interest in working with departmental Speaker's Lab, teaching courses in the college's Professional Studies program, and/or other essential assistance to the department and college
