Instructional Technology Technician

Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology has an opening in the Learning & Technology Department for an Instructional Technology Technician. The ideal candidate will be committed to supporting the institute's mission by providing instructional technology services and support to faculty, students, and staff.

The Instructional Technology Technician will analyze, design, test, implement, document, and maintain control system software/programming for managing audiovisual technologies in academic classrooms. In collaboration with the Instructional Technology Manager, this position will assess the suitability of instructional technology systems in terms of intended uses/outcomes; proactively monitor and update technologies in academic classrooms to continuously improve user experiences and technology reliability. This position will respond to requests for assistance, troubleshoot technical problems, and implement solutions.

The Instructional Technology Technician will assist the Instructional Technology Manager in maintaining an accurate inventory of instructional technology equipment and converting instructional media into different formats. This position will create and maintain written records and technical schematics of technologies installed in the classrooms.

Qualified candidates will have an associate degree or vocational or technical school degree and one to three years of relevant work experience.

Preferred candidates will have a bachelor's degree in computer science/engineering or related field. Knowledge of/or experience maintaining Crestron control systems and monitoring applications (e.g., Crestron Fusion) highly desirable. Ability to be trained as a Crestron Level 2 certified programmer, with future development to include applicable certifications and continued training.
