Compensation: Salary Grade 10 ($40,562 –$65,913)
Location: Manhattan Campuses*Please note: the minimum salary for this position is $40,562 per year. Target beginning salary is $53,237. Actual salary will be determined based on candidate’s experience and education. Accountabilities Summary: The Instructional Technology Specialist supports faculty with the campus Learning Management System and provides general application support for all employees and students.Primary Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate and communicate with College IT staff to ensure alignment of efforts to optimize use of college technology for teaching and learning, and for enhancing capacity of services to students, instructors, and college staff.
  • Provide tier 1 technical support for faculty application support, including LMS, instructional applications, and classroom technology.
  • Provides instructional design, to include the development and/or conversion of course materials for delivery of face-to-face, hybrid, and online courses to support faculty through consultation and collaborative course design.
  • Oversee integration of new technology into existing MATC infrastructure
  • Oversee and collaborate with the Information Technology Team to research, create, pilot, implement, sustain, expand, and evaluate instructional technology utilization across academics, to include research, development, and implementation of new technologies and software’s.
  • Collaborates, assists, develops, and participates in facilitation of professional development workshops and symposia, particularly with regard to course design, online teaching, and technology-enhanced instruction.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by supervisor(s).
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in instructional design, technology, education, or similar field
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in instructional design or information technology
  • Experience with online services to include Learning Management System software, preferably Canvas; and integrated software to support retention, assessment, textbook/LTI integrations, etc.
  • Commitment to learning cutting edge technologies for support of online education.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work with faculty and administration.
  • Excellent, demonstrated oral and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as in a collaborative environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Highly organized and accurate with great attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of best practice for online and face-to-face student retention.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and adhere to deadlines.
  • Ability to work all college locations, evenings and weekends as may be required.
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to sit for extended periods.
  • Ability to read screens and print materials and communicate effectively in-person, via computer/email and on the phone.
  • Ability to attend in-person and/or remote meetings during regular and evening hours.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds.
