Title: Instructional Technology Facilitator
QUALIFICATIONS:
North Carolina K-12 certification (K-12 teaching licensure required; instructional technology license 077 preferred )
Master's Degree in instructional technology or information/library science preferred
Experience in providing instructional technology support services in an educational setting
Experience in developing instructional materials for adult learners and presenting staff development both live on online
Knowledge of contemporary instructional technology trends and issues

SALARY: NC Teacher Salary + 18% supplement

PURPOSE: Instructional Technology Facilitators provide, promote, and participate in shared leadership. They are valued for leading a strong and comprehensive school instructional technology program which provides tools, resources, and content that promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and information and communications literacy while also making content engaging, relevant, and meaningful to students. Instructional Technology Facilitators encourage student-owned, modern digital learning skills including collaboration, communication, critical thinking, and creativity. They enable teaching in all content areas including global awareness, civic literacy, financial literacy, and health awareness. Instructional Technology Facilitators demonstrate the value of lifelong learning and encourage the school community to learn and grow. They are reflective about their practice and promote inclusion and analysis of assessments that are authentic, structured and demonstrate student understanding. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1.MAJOR FUNCTION: Planning and Facilitating Teaching and Learning
Aligns the mission, resources and activities of the instructional technology program with the North Carolina State Standards and the local goals and priorities for teaching and learning.
Collaborates with teachers and other instructional staff to co-plan, co-teach and develop curriculum materials and specific lesson plans that integrate technology
Provides professional development addressing instructional theory, practice, and resources that promotes student-owned learning, relevancy, digital literacy skills, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity
Models the integration of technology in all curriculum areas
Facilitates school participation in technology programs and activities
Collaborates with the School Librarian to provide leadership in the school's use of instructional technology resources and plan digital citizenship and information literacy lessons to enhance learning
Follows a plan for professional development and actively seeks out opportunities to grow professionally
2.MAJOR FUNCTION: Planning and Facilitating Information Access and Delivery
Implements best practices related to technology use in the school program based on research, pilot programs, and state/national standards
Works with the principal and school leadership team to provide access to technology resources and services of the technology facilitator at point of need
Works with teachers and technology staff in the selection of resources that are compatible with the school technology infrastructure
Assists with planning the design of the technology infrastructure so that information resources are continually available to the school community
Promotes family, business, and community partnerships that support the academic success, career readiness, and general well-being of all children
Adheres to and communicates copyright, as well as other laws and guidelines, pertaining to the distribution and ethical use of all resources
Works with the school Technology Assistant(s) (High School) and/or IT Support Technicians to ensure that hardware, applications, and the network infrastructure are available for teaching and learning
3.MAJOR FUNCTION: Planning and Facilitating Program Administration
Collaborates with the Librarian and the Media and Technology Advisory Committee to develop effective decisions that promote the media and technology program.
Collaborates with the Director of Digital Learning and Library Services, Executive Director of Technology, and the school leadership team to develop, implement, and update the district instructional technology plan aligned with the NC Digital Learning plan
Collaborates with teachers, media and technology staff, and students to evaluate and select resources addressing curricular needs and learning goals
Assists in the ongoing evaluation of the effectiveness of the instructional technology program
Ensures that a troubleshooting communication process and system exists in the school
Serves as a school-based system administrator for the school website and other online applications
Collaborated with IT technician to ensure that there is an accurate inventory for the school and provides other reports on time as required
Carries out non-instructional duties as assigned and/or as needed to ensure student safety
Terms of employment
Eleven Months (Elementary and Middle School) or Twelve-months (High School). Salary in accordance with certification and placement on the adopted schedule.
Evaluation:
Performance on this job will be evaluated in accordance with the Board of Education policy on the evaluation of teachers.
