The Instructional Technologist/LMS Administrator supports the implementation, maintenance and future growth of our learning management system (LMS). They are responsible for working with our various training teams to identify necessary configurations as well as developing and revising LMS administration guidelines and procedures. This team member serves as a bridge between the various training teams and IT in order to make sure our LMS is effective and efficient for all of our team members.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and process new configuration requests

  • Assist with LMS reporting requests (including training new LMS report runners) and build ad hoc reports

  • Train team-level administrators with access to the LMS

  • Manage LMS system communication

  • Provide guidance on future functionality of the LMS

  • Conduct semi-annual audits of training content and the course catalog

  • Build, maintain, deliver, track and report on compliance training

Requirements

  • Experience administering a learning management system

  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to prioritize and exercise independent judgement

  • Experience creating computer-based training

  • Familiarity with instructional design processes

  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams

  • Ability to communicate about the technology platform to non-technology team members

Must possess an in-depth knowledge of instructional technologies, instructional delivery, curriculum development, and data analysis. 9. Must possess the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. 10. Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students and staff. JOB SUMMARY: 1. Works collaboratively to analyze student and program-related data for the purpose of providing information related to student and program achievement in order to evaluate program effectiveness and to provide information needed for strategic planning. 2. Participates in developing and monitoring ethical use districtwide instructional technology guidelines and standards (e.g. content, relevance, effectiveness, etc.) for the purpose of enhancing student achievement while minimizing costs and ensuring data compatibility. 3. Participates in meetings, workshops and/or trainings for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform job functions. 4. Prepared documentation (e.g. user guides, recommendations, lesson plans, reports, instructions, memos, etc.) for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference and/or conveying information. 5. Researches instructional-technology-related student achievement technology for the purpose of making recommendations and assisting with the design and implementation in order to meet the district master plan for instructional technology. 6. Trains certificated, classified staff in the use of instructional and district standard software products for the purpose of improving work efficiency and effectiveness by enhancing the ability to use new and/or existing software.
