We have an opening for a motivated, results-oriented Instructional Systems Designer (ISD) with a passion for training. The position requires hands on experience with the application of the Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate (ADDIE) Instructional Model to include job task analysis and courseware production experience. The ideal candidate will have experience applying a common sense approach to creating training that provides measurable performance outcomes. Familiarity with TRADOC 350-70 or MIL-HDBK-29612 documentation is a plus. Willingness to travel, as required.
Facilitate data collection meetings to ensure the acquisition of all required data to include task analysis, associated Behaviors, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (BKSA), conditions and standards, and Difficulty, Importance, and Frequency (DIF) metrics.
Leverage sound instructional design, prevailing learning theories, and performance improvement processes using ADDIE Instructional Model.
Review technical guidance and Subject Matter Expert focus groups/surveys to extract technical instructional content to support learning objectives.
Proactively engage stakeholders to successfully accomplish schedule milestones.
Use COTS tools to develop courseware.
Work with other ISDs and other development team members to meet production, quality and schedule requirements.
Ensure 100% of own work output complies with requirements and quality standards.
Organize course content in accordance with instructional design plans.
Develop assessment instruments.
Provide first-hand, experienced input on creating training products that are Section 508 compliant.
Must have hands-on, practical work experience working in a courseware development production environment using COTS authoring or LCMS tools.
Must be able to design and deliver creative and instructionally sound training products.
Must be able to meet production deadlines.
Must be able to work with stakeholders to extract required information.
Must be able to immediately recognize potential deviations from contract requirements and identify them to the Project Manager as risks for mitigation prior to becoming an out of scope issue.
Must be able to create products with extremely high attention to detail and accuracy, and work within a team environment.
Must be able to interact with team members and stakeholders in a problem-solving, constructive manner.
Must be able to perform multiple concurrent tasks.
Possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
Education and Experience:
Bachelors/Master's Degree in Instructional Systems Design, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Instructional Technology, or related field.
Four (4) years of relevant experience.
U.S. Citizenship required.
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance is required.
