GENERAL SUMMARY: Facilitates the delivery of quality education regardless of the instructional format. Evaluates, implements, and supports instructional technology. Monitors regulations, educational standards, and accreditation requirements related to the provision of education and advises organizational decision makers with regard to these topics.


PRINCIPAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. *Commits to the mission, vision, beliefs and consistently demonstrates our core values. 2. *Coordinates with organizational stakeholders to assess instructional technology needs and devise solutions within the department#s scope of responsibility. 3. *Collaborates with IT professionals, vendors, and college decision makers to evaluate, implement, and maintain instructional systems. 4. *Serves as an administrator for instructional systems and provides technical support and troubleshooting. 5. *Promotes inclusive and equitable practices and accessible technical systems to ensure that the needs of all learners are met. 6. Ensures that instructional technology orientation and guidance are provided to faculty, staff, and students. 7. *Completes compliance functions including but not limited to state authorization, professional licensure, international compliance, and out-of-state distance education related activities. 8. *Conducts research and supports the preparation of applications, forms, and reports as required by regulatory and accrediting bodies in order to obtain and maintain authorization and approval. 9. *Monitors changes in regulations and accreditation requirements, making policy and process recommendations as needed to ensure compliance with the changes. 10. *Advises decision makers regarding compliance topics and serves as a resource to the College community regarding questions pertaining to compliance. 11. *Leads the evaluation of distance learning services and operations. 12. Provides resource recommendations based on identified needs and trends. 13. Participates in departmental planning, goal implementation, and reporting. 14. Maintains currency in educational best practices. 15. Works remotely but may need to report to the College for select events and/or return to campus to work as determined by the Provost. A minimum two-week notice will be provided upon request to return. 16. Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise. 17. Participates in meetings, committees and department projects as assigned. 18. Performs other related projects and duties as assigned. (Essential Job functions are marked with an asterisk ##. Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws, accreditation standards, state reciprocity agreements, and College policies that govern the work areas managed. 2. Knowledge of standards and best practices regarding instructional technology and digital education. 3. Knowledge of educational quality assurance models. 4. Knowledge of computer hardware equipment and software applications relevant to work functions. 5. Skill in using computer hardware, software applications, and audio/visual technologies relevant to instruction. 6. Skill into implementing accessible, inclusive, and equitable instruction. 7. Ability to analyze problems, identify needs, and implement effective solutions. 8. Ability to effectively perform work in high impact situations. 9. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including faculty, staff, students, peers at other institutions, and vendors. 10. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with varied constituencies. 11. Ability to maintain confidentiality relevant to sensitive information. 12. Ability to prioritize work, work independently and meet deadlines set by self or others. 13. Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance. 14. Ability to work remotely.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:


Bachelor#s degree required. Master#s degree preferred. Education or related field of study preferred. Minimum of five (5) years combined experience in higher education compliance, digital education, or related field required. Active participation in NC-SARA, WCET, SAN, or other professional organizations focused on higher education policy, practice, and compliance preferred. # OTHER CREDENTIALS / CERTIFICATIONS: Certification or training in quality assurance models, instructional practices, or higher education legal topics preferred.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
