Requirements / Qualifications

Comments and Other Information

Under the direction of the assigned supervisor, the Instructional Support Program (ISP) teacher serves as a member of the Individual Education Program (IEP) team to support the identification, intervention, and education of students with support needs; provides an instructional program for students in classroom and community-based settings designed to offer students opportunities to participate more fully in home, school and community life; serves as the case manager for assigned students; and provides consultation and training to instructional staff and parents. The Contra Costa County Office of Education is committed to creating an accessible, supportive environment and an educational experience that recognizes diversity and cultural competence as integral components of academic excellence.

The teacher in this position will work with both Middle and High School aged students in an alternative school setting. The candidate should have strong behavior management and intervention skills, be proficient with using technology in the classroom, and have strong skill in all CORE academic areas. In addition, the position will be required to team teach with the general education teacher and manage IEP's and academic testing when necessary. The teacher in this position will work at both Golden Gate Richmond and Pittsburg locations.
