The Alabama Technology in Motion (ATiM) Program is conducted on-site and on-line at participating schools/LEAs to meet their needs and goals. The overriding principle is to ensure that the skills are not just learned but implemented as a routine part of each teacher's or administrator's job. The ATiM Instructional Specialist is a technology consultant who is familiar with Alabama's K-12 curriculum and has expertise in using technology in the classroom. That expertise is strengthened by working as a member of a statewide team. The ATiM Specialist will provide training/modeling for K-12 teachers on integrating digital literacy and computer science into the curriculum using the Alabama Course of Study: Digital Literacy and Computer Science Standards to enhance student instruction.
Essential Job Duties
1.Plan and conduct PD with an emphasis on digital literacy, cyber-safety, digital citizenship, and computer science;
2.Maintains and submits an updated calendar/schedule to ATiM Project Director and Regional In-Service Center (RIC) Director;
3.Recruits participants and schedules workshops within the In-Service Center region;
4.Collaborates with the LEAs within the In-Service Center region to plan meaningful professional development;
5.Supports statewide technology initiatives and conferences as directed by the ATiM Project Director;
6.Maintains an inventory of software and hardware;
7.Contributes to the development of Project reports, procedures, and policies;
8.Prepares and disseminates Project information as appropriate;
9.Prepares and submits an interim and final report representing activity for the school year and following summer;
Keeps current on emerging technology practices in education through reading and by attending conference/workshops/classes;
Performs other duties as assigned by the ATiM Project Director, the Regional In-Service Center Director, or the Educational Technology Coordinator.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Proficiency in a variety of software applications, including productivity packages, spreadsheets, and
Ability to model the appropriate use of technology
Team oriented, flexible, and works well with others
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experienced teacher or on-site trainer with the ability to motivate learners
Familiarity with Alabama Education System and local education administrators
Experience and knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum training and design
Experience using critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaborative activities with students to solve real-world problems
Strong belief that integration of technology in the classroom is key to the improvement of Alabama education
Current on new instructional technologies and their use in the classroom and a willingness to continue to learn additional instructional technologies
Experience with using PowerSchool Professional Learning and Schoology is preferred but not required
Education and Experience
Experience in on-line learning preferred;
Bachelors Degree required (Master's degree in education preferred)
Minimum five (5) years K-12 teaching experience required;
Experience delivering professional development programs for teachers required.
Licenses, Certification or Registrations
Current Alabama Teacher Certification required
Current Alabama driver's license and acceptable driving record required
