Job Summary

Reporting to the School Director, the Instructional Specialist facilitates non-core subject classes such as Music, Theater, Art, Exploratorium, World Language P.E., and Athletics. The Instructional Specialist will guide and encourage learners to develop and fulfill their academic potential.

Although teaching experience is not required, Instructional Specialists must demonstrate a passion and expertise in their field and have the ability to connect well with kids/children/learners/students. The Instructional Specialist will have the opportunity to create, tailor and modify their curriculum to the needs of the learners.

Requirements / Qualifications

? Minimum AA degree in relevant field and or experience. ? Experience with an education setting and/or real world experience in being non-traditional, flexible, open minded, and collaborative. ? Relevant and professional expertise in their field. ? Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written. ? Ability to update and maintain student progress and records. ? Willingness to work in nontraditional school settings with learners. ? Very high level of personal and professional integrity and trustworthiness. ? Maintain confidentiality of learners and their records. ? Establish and maintain friendly, cooperative and effective working relationships with learners, learners with special needs, parents, facilitators, care team, and administration. ? Demonstrate standards of moral character and behavior to serve as an effective role model for learners. ? Demonstrated capability to maintain effective relationships in a team oriented environment. ? Thrive in a collaborative, team based and fast-paced environment. ? Knowledge of safety rules and habits.
