Preference given to qualified PSE of NK members.
Regular position. Instructional Paraeducator, working in Behavior Intervention Program, supporting teachers with classroom management; monitoring students; instructing individual and small groups of students with conflict resolution throughout the day.
Looking for:
Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification (or the ability to obtain it by 12/1/24); this will add a $3.00/hour stipend to the above-noted wage range.
Ability to establish rapport with students, families and staff
Ability to coach staff in carrying out behavior strategies and behavior interventions as described in MTSS blueprint
Utilization of safe and respectful de-escalation techniques
Experience with documenting and monitoring behavior data
Right Response certification or ability to obtain it
Anticipated assignment: Suquamish Elementary School.
Anticipated work breakdown: 180 days/year; 6.25 hours/day on M, T, Th, F and shorter hours on Wednesdays.
Schedule: TBD; fewer hours on Wednesdays due to early release schedule.
Anticipated start date: 2024/25 school year.

Benefits
Eligibility for benefits is determined by the number of hours an employee is anticipated to work during the school year (September 1 - August 31). This position is anticipated to meet the requirement of 630 hours of employment in a school/fiscal year to qualify for benefits.
