7 Hours Per Day (7:30 a.m.

  • 3:00 p.m. includes 30 minute unpaid lunch)

190 Days Per Year (180 student days / 10 holidays)

This position will remain open until a qualified applicant is selected. The earliest date a recommendation for hire may be submitted is after 06/26/24.

Must meet Paraeducator Employment Requirements as follows*:
Be at least eighteen (18) years of age and hold a high school diploma or its equivalent; AND
Must meet one or more of the following:
Have received a passing score of 455 or higher on the Education Testing Service ParaPro Assessment (ETS test/PRAXIS); or
Hold an Associate Degree or higher from an accredited college or university; or
Have earned 72 quarter credits or 48 semester credits at 100 level or higher at an accredited college or university; or
Have completed a Paraeducator Apprenticeship Program (program must be registered with the Washington State Apprenticeship and Training Council).

  • If you do not meet the required qualifications listed above, your name will be screened out from the list of qualified candidates.

Upon hire, new paraeducators will be required to complete state required training offered through Evergreen School District.

SUMMARY STATEMENT:
Under the supervision of the building Principal, the Bilingual Paraeducator will assist in the supervision of instructional activities, working closely with students on an individual and small group basis that are in need of specialty language support in their programs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Assist the program instructor in supervising and working with students as follows:Communicate effectively with students.
Assist in providing one-to-one and group instruction to students so as to meet course
Assist in establishing and maintaining a learning environment as specified by course goals and curriculum
Assist in providing academic primary language support for students who have a specialty language.
Assist in evaluating and specifying direction of instruction so as to maximize each student's
Maintain accurate data on student
Assist in implementing behavioral management strategies using the same emphasis and techniques as set forth by the

Assist interpreters in conferencing with parents, students, classroom instructors, and school counselors.
