Inequities and health disparities are a major public health threat and demand a concerted, interdisciplinary effort. At the College of Public Health, we dedicate ourselves to public health in all its parameters, from epidemiology to nursing, from social work to rehabilitation sciences.

Social justice has always driven our work: This understanding that individual outcomes are intricately tied to the larger systems we inhabit is the foundation of our college. Temple University College of Public Health's interprofessional culture fosters collaboration both within and outside the college.

We value differences among our faculty and believe that we can better serve and understand our Philadelphia community through diversity of our individual faculty and our disciplines. Join us in our mission to develop progressive, compassionate researchers, practitioners, and clinicians to build a better tomorrow grounded in creating the environments and health infrastructure that will make us the healthiest nation.

Salary and benefits are competitive and commensurate with credentials and experience. Instructional faculty workload will primarily focus on teaching in the entry-level DPT Program and engagement in institutional and professional service

QUALIFICATIONS. Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) with a terminal academic degree (PhD, EdD, DSc, ScD) preferred, eligibility for Pennsylvania licensure, and demonstrated interest or previous instructional experience in a DPT curriculum.

Candidates with relevant clinical experience and expertise in one or more of the following areas are encouraged to apply: cardiopulmonary and/or neurologic physical therapy. Additional desired qualifications include acute care experience; leadership skills and clinical experience in community clinics, pro bono services, and clinical learning centers to collaborate with our community partners. Preferred qualifications include previous experience in education, specialist certification by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties, and a record of scholarship. Candidates without a terminal academic degree will also be considered.

We value diversity and seek individuals committed to inclusive practices in research and education. We seek faculty committed to collaborative, interdisciplinary education and research prepared to join us in our commitment toward prioritizing sustainable, inclusive, and anti-oppressive practices.

The DPT PROGRAM. The DPT program's full-time faculty bring to their teaching their experiences from their varied clinical and research backgrounds while emphasizing student learning/development through innovative and evidence-based teaching practices.

PT faculty collaborate with faculty in many disciplines and with local institutions including Temple University Hospital System and Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Our instructional space is fully equipped with smart classrooms and a state-of-the-art instructional laboratory. The DPT Program supports the North Philadelphia community by offering pro-bono physical therapy services through our interprofessional pro bono clinic and as part of the multi-disciplinary clinic at 1300 Lehigh Street where students and faculty work to meet the needs of uninsured and underinsured members of the community. This practice venue gives many faculty members a venue to maintain their clinical practice and teach at the point of patient care.
