SUMMARY:
The primary responsibility will be to support the organization's learning technologies and development activities, through development of instructional materials and products.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The role will support Learning & Development functions that include, but are not limited to the following:
Present and make recommendations regarding course design, technology, and instruction delivery options.
Define instructional, learning, or performance objectives.
Write and develop instructional materials and products such as lesson plans, student and instructor guides, presentations, infographics, quick reference guides, checklists, etc.
Adapt instructional content or delivery methods for different levels or types of learners
Assess company-wide developmental needs to drive training initiatives and identify and arrange suitable training solutions for employees
Actively search, creatively design and implement effective methods to educate and enhance performance
Work with subject matter experts to gather information and material to develop instructional content
Conduct needs assessments and strategic learning assessments to develop the basis for curriculum development or to update curricula.
Develop measurement tools to evaluate the effectiveness of instruction or training interventions.
Manage eLearning initiatives/course development
Develop and deploy communications and training plans to support performance management activities and any process or system changes
Manage communication regarding training, HR initiatives and organizational development areas
Research and evaluate emerging instructional technologies or methods
Ensure branding integrity is upheld
Exemplifies the desired culture and philosophies of the organization
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Aptitude for learning and managing technology platforms
Strong project management skills
Excellent business communication skills (written, verbal and presentation skills)
Proven ability to manage competing priorities, multitask, take ownership of problems and resolve conflicts
Proven ability to build and manage relationships with stakeholders across the organization
Ability to think systematically
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across divisions, functions and levels.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Minimum High School Diploma or GED. Two years of instructional design experience and/or training required. Experience in the security industry is not necessary.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations using the English language. Ability to write reports, internal business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
To perform this job successfully, the Instructional Designer should possess intermediate to advanced skills in:
Microsoft Office
Learning Management Systems
Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Premiere Pro, Illustrator)
Adobe Captivate or similar e-learning software
Ability to learn other software programs as needed
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Certified Professional in Learning and Performance preferred.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to pass a drug screen and criminal background check.
