Our training team has the exciting challenge and opportunity to build best-in-class, cutting edge training materials and application Help content for an entire new Suite of products, to enable our customers in building the greatest projects in the world. We are looking for Instructional Design experts who are passionate about building eLearning, video tutorials, in-app tutorials, Instructor-Led training, and simulations for contractors and owners in the Construction industry. You would be working on a team of 4 full-time designers, with assistance from up to 6 other part time resources, reporting to the Director of Training.
Roles & Responsibilities:
We will be creating a full spectrum of materials for a set of product modules. For the development of Instructor-Led materials, you will:
Work with the software team to build course outlines
Work with subject matter experts to understand product functionality & purpose
Write the key concepts, scenarios, and step by step exercises for the course training manuals & presentation slides using MS Word and MS Power Point.
Assist with the editing & formatting of the materials until a final draft is reached
You will also be involved in the design & development of short 1 to 5-minute training videos and eLearning courses with simulations, including:
Writing of tutorial scrips in MS Word
Recording software functions using Camtasia
Designing eLearning content using Articulate Storyline
Recording audio using Audacity
Assisting with the video and audio editing, refining it to the final product
In addition, for in-app help, you will:
Create step by step tutorials consisting of pop-ups and call outs within our software, using an editing tool called WalkMe
Write in-depth Help articles as needed
You will also be involved in the setup & migration of training content to our website & LMS
Travel for this position will be minimal, but may be required up to 10% of the time.
Requirements & Qualifications:
We are looking for designers with 3+ years' experience in Instructional Design & Training.
Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design or relevant field
Must have experience working with audio & video editing tools (i.e. Camtasia).
Must be flexible to move between various tasks, projects, and adjust to software development changes as needed.
Must have knowledge of Adult Learning Theory, ADDIE, and best practices for online and instructor-led training.
Strong technical writing skills with attention to detail will be imperative, along with a focus on customer expectations & satisfaction.
Ability to work independently, but also as a dedicated team player in a fast-paced, multiple-task environment.
Experience working in the construction industry (e.g., Infrastructure, Oil & Gas, and/or Mining) is highly preferred.
Experience with eLearning development tools using Articulate Storyline or equivalent is highly preferred.
