MarketSource is currently seeking an Experienced Instructional Designer. This position works directly with our commercial business partners and content development team to design, develop, and implement training materials.

Job Description

The Instructional Designer will support the training and development needs for the commercial business. This person will work closely with subject matter experts, business partners, and the Learning and Development (L&D) team.

Specifically, the ideal candidate will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to perform front-end analysis to identify knowledge gaps and define learning and development needs

  • Write training content, design graphics, and create storyboards

  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and clients to design and develop learning solutions

  • Design curriculum for web-delivered solutions, including e-learning courses and webinars

  • Design curriculum for instructor-led learning solutions, including course outlines, measurement tools, facilitator guides, participant guides, and PowerPoint decks

  • Develop training roadmaps for overall curriculum structure

  • Set up continual measurement tools to demonstrate effectiveness of training and identify needed improvements

  • Manage course development and implementation from start to finish

  • Deliver train-the-trainer

  • Expected to collaborate with all members of Learning and Development team, including trainers, video media specialists, technical writers, and other instructional designers

Core Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Bachelor's degree is required

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • 5+ years' experience developing e-learning courses and instructor-led training

  • Experience developing storyboards, designing graphics, and writing scripts

  • Proficient in Articulate 360/Storyline, the Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office Suite

  • Must have knowledge of instructional design principles/practices, including adult learning theories, interactive training, and engaging learning design

  • Must be able to logically organize information and create engaging learning content

  • Must have proven skills in audience and content analysis

  • Must possess strong situational analysis and decision-making abilities

  • Presentation design experience is a plus

  • Ability to operate successfully in cross-functional team

  • Ability to work on multiple, complex projects simultaneously

  • Ability to continually prioritize changing project tasks/deliverables in a fast-paced environment

Additional Information

This is a team environment, and the candidate will need to be comfortable working in an office setting and taking direction on projects.

Work Environment

Business Casual dress code (jeans allowed; appropriate dress for associate events). Some flex hours allowed within team constraints.

Interview Information

Interview will be conducted with Content Development Team Manager, Instructional Designer, and the Director of Learning and Development. Work samples and skills test may be required.
