Position Summary The Instructional Designer is responsible for driving the design and development of high quality educational content for e-learning, instructor led and virtual classroom programs, tool kits, study guides, performance support aids, and other learning objects related to health care professionals.
The Instructional Designer plays a significant role in the development of a successful and effective learning technology infrastructure.
Position responsibilities include working with subject matter experts, internal and external customers and other stakeholders to develop certification curricula, assessments, surveys and other educational content.
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast paced atmosphere where prioritizing and multi tasking are the norm.
Exceptional attention to detail and first class organizational skills are mandatory.
This dynamic position reports to the VP of Medical Education and works in a team environment.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) Bachelor's degree in an area related to education, communications, technology, instructional systems, educational technology, instructional design, or related areas.
Minimum of five years of demonstrated relevant experience in one or more of the following: designing, implementing, designing user experiences for web-based mobile or gaming technologies, simulation and other virtual platforms.
Innovative and resourceful; actively seeks opportunities to improve meetings, events, and online modules.
Exceptional client service skills and enjoys working with the public.
Strong time management skills and ability to manage concurrent tasks efficiently and effectively.
Superior attention to detail; first class organizational skills.
Demonstrated problem solving skills.
High energy, positive, professional attitude, pride in work product.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to create and maintain a visual aesthetic throughout the project lifecycle that is aligned with MaineHealth branding standards.
Equipped with animation, modeling, composition, rendering and riggings skills.
Experience with e-learning development tools as Composica, Captivate, Camtasia.
Experience with learning analytics.
Experience with Adobe CS, After Effects, Maya, Flash, HTML-XML.
